This drive is a big problem solver for my limited space on my Macbook when using it with software that benefits from fast read/write times. I formatted the drive as a Mac HFS Journaled drive - I have read there is a speed hit for formatting HFS but since I am only going to use this on a Mac I felt it was most useful since I can use the Mac's drive repair tools if needed.
I haven't tried 1080p/60 4:4:2 yet but speed results say it should handle it with read times of 430.6 MB/s and write times of 403.4 MB/s. I verified that by loading a project and it handled it with no dropped frames.

I edit video on my year old 13" Macbook Pro using Final Cut X (yes, the screen size is a little tight) and the drive is plenty fast for editing 1080p/30 fps 4:2:2 video according to BlackMagic Design's Disk Speed test. It has a mini USB-C connector and a accompanying cable that terminates in a standard USB 3.0 connector which will work with USB 3.0/USB 2.0 devices like laptops or desktop computers. The device's housing is a combination of black plastic and a grayish-bronze metal. The Samsung T3 500GB USB 3.0 SSD is a small device (smaller than a pack of playing cards) which packs a lot of speed.
